true thrill lies not in hunting but in lying under pear blossoms and watching, while quaking, how a swarm of bees make love to their queen. But there are no pear blossoms left in these ruins. No dark green gloss and five-petal whites becoming collectively a hundred. No bees with pollen smeared onto their torsos, no unconscious but honest deliverance of fertility. Only paintings of pear blossoms, and bees, inside lacquered wooden frames. Tell me what to do with my cynicism and its logic; people seek paradise in order to destroy it. The forest must remain only for you and me. Only for us to enjoy, and I know, only for us to kill slowly, as it outgrows
